Annual Fund

Help support what is now and next for Keystone Adventure School and Farm by donating to our Annual Fund.

As you may know, Keystone does not accept any federal or state funds. This, like many other non-traditional components of Keystone, is by design.  Keystone is truly changing the paradigm of education for your children, one child at a time, by returning to the true basics of learning and attending to the whole child educationally. The rules and confinements that accompany federal and state mandates for education would immediately limit the programs that set us apart. We could not enjoy the pasture, the pond, the creek, the Cog, Project Time, housecleaning, bare feet, expressive music and art, and most importantly, the truly individualized honoring of the divergent learning and whole child approach. We would be forced to use standardized tests to place children arbitrarily instead of placing children where they will learn best. We work hard to honor the high caliber of teachers and staff at Keystone.

These amazing programs and remarkable campus and building cost money that we must raise beyond tuition. Our Board of Directors works very hard to keep our tuition low and our expenses steady; we are careful stewards of your tuition dollars. However, like most private schools, our tuition covers only a portion of the actual cost of educating each child. Currently, the cost of educating each child at Keystone is $15,000 per year, leaving the school to cover $5,000 per child above tuition.  This disparity creates an annual deficit that ranges from $250,000-$300,000. We have been blessed by the generosity of local individuals, corporations and foundations to bridge the majority of this gap, adding to the funds raised by our school events and grants written by our development office.

It is important for us as a school family to demonstrate that we step up for Keystone financially for many reasons. It makes sense that the outside community that supports us wants to see evidence that we believe in our school.  As we step up for Keystone together, we strengthen our community and foundation for the now and future children of Keystone!
